A personal word is encouragement, not control
A personal prophetic word is a prayerful attempt to share encouragement, comfort, strengthening or insight that a Christian believes the Holy Spirit may be highlighting for a particular person. It is not a replacement for your relationship with God. It should point you back toward Him, not make you dependent on the person delivering the word.
What it can do
A personal word may confirm something you have already been sensing, bring hope in a difficult season, draw attention to a biblical truth, or help you see your situation from another angle. Sometimes the most valuable part is not prediction at all. It is the reminder that God sees you and that your present season is not the whole story.
What it should never become
Prophecy should not become fortune telling, spiritual control or pressure. A word should not isolate you from wise counsel, tell you to ignore Scripture, or force you into a major medical, legal, financial or relationship decision. Healthy prophecy makes room for testing and time.
Your responsibility remains
Scripture says that we know in part and prophesy in part. That is why the person receiving a word should pray, weigh it, compare it with Scripture and seek mature counsel where appropriate. The fact that something is called prophetic does not remove your responsibility to discern.
Why RequestWord exists
RequestWord is designed to provide prayerful personal encouragement while also teaching people how to walk with God for themselves. The goal is not simply to tell you what is going to happen. It is to help you hear God, understand the season you are in, find hope and keep moving with wisdom.
If you feel you need a prophetic word, read what healthy prophetic encouragement is and how to weigh it wisely. If you are considering making a request, how to request personal prophecy wisely explains how to prepare without fear, pressure or unrealistic expectations.
You can request a personal prophetic word, or use the free prayer request route. A prophetic word should always be weighed through Scripture, prayer and wise counsel.
